Preview: Atletico Madrid Vs Malaga

This Saturday 29th October 2016, An Atlético Madrid hurting in their pride will measure forces with a motivated Málaga at Estadio Vicente Calderón for Round 10 of the Spanish Liga Santander.
After hammering Granada by 7-1 and getting a narrow win against Rostov in the Uefa Champions League, Atletico Madrid has failed to extend their excellent form as they fell to Sevilla by 0-1 after their eleven (11) game unbeaten run. Nothing seemed to go Atletico Madrid’s favor that night as they lost possession easily, failed to create clear cut chances and were ripped apart by the fast counter-attack by Sevilla which resulted in a goal by Steven N’Zonzi, 20min before the end of the game.
Nevertheless this time they are facing a motivated Malaga side, this is not going to be an easy encounter .With Simeone in charge, Atletico have lost just one league game against Malaga (W5 D4).

The Spanish International Koke, who picked up a red card last time out, will miss the upcoming match due to suspension. Augusto Fernandez will also miss out because of a long term knee injury, while Gimenez, who is still recovering from a hamstring problem, remains in doubt for this clash.

As for Malaga, the Andalusian outfit, are currently going through a good moment of form
and have not been defeated in their last three games. After a home win over Athletic Bilbao and a 1-1draw against Alaves, Malaga completely hammered La Liga newcomers Leganes by 4-0. They have pulled off an extremely solid performance to grab their third win in nine matches so far this season and will surely take that to cause Atlético Madrid problems when they lock horns.

Antoine Griezmann has scored 3 goals in 4 appearances against malaga while Kevin Gamiero scored 4 goals, his favourite La Liga side, Also Fernando Torres has  scored more La Liga goals at El Calderon versus any other side (four alongside Barcelona) . Malaga is the Liga side with most lost balls this season, an average of 173.89 per game, Atletico will look to capitalize on it.
